RA Sports Management has partnered with Houston runner Nestor Enriquez to support his 40 for 40 initiative to benefit Houston's CHILDREN AT RISK for our 2016 Houston races.
40 for 40 is an initiative to raise $40,000 in one year for a 501(c)(3) organization called Children at Risk. This campaign was created by Nestor Enriquez, who was searching for a meaningful way to ring in his big 4-0 birthday.
Who is Children at Risk?
CHILDREN AT RISK is a non-profit organization that drives change for children through research, education, and influencing public policy. The causes of CAR focus specifically on public education, human trafficking, health and nutrition, and parenting. Through its collaboration and advocacy programs CAR has become a leader who’s priority is to ensure ample resources are available for children and their families to thrive throughout the state of Texas.
Why the 40 for 40 Initiative?
In Nestor's own words, "It's as simple as this: I'm an average person who gets up and goes to work every morning like everybody else. I've been fortunate enough to have love and support from family and friends. Through whatever ups and downs life’s path has presented, the underlying theme has always been to pay it forward. For the last 20 years I've had the opportunity to volunteer, participate, contribute, and fund raise for different organizations. For me this is an opportunity to take my philanthropy to another level.
It’s the opportunity to be a channel in bringing awareness to an organization that really makes a difference in children’s and their families lives while also doing some significant fundraising. Any donation you make to the 40 for 40 initiative would be greatly appreciated, but whether its by financial contribution or by volunteering I want to invite everyone to accompany me on this journey in supporting the 40 for 40 initiative for Children at Risk."
Select 40for40TX as how you heard about the race and a portion of your registration fee will be donated to CHILDREN AT RISK. You may also directly donate to the 40 for 40 campaign for Children at Risk at the button below.
